No Weezy F. Baby on the Way for Shanell?!? (Louisiana)

According to the reports, extremely virile rapper Lil Wayne has yet another baby on the way, this one with Young Money artist Shanell. This is hardly surprising since Wayne, who has fathered four children with four different women (two in the last six months) loves his babies(!), but now the Young Money boss and protege are vehemently denying the rumors.

"Basically it came from a corny rumor that escalated," Shanell told MTV. "First I was dating him, then I was his girlfriend, then we were getting married, then we were settling down and now I'm pregnant. It's so foolish we've haven't paid it any attention."

The singer/songwriter -- sister of former Danity Kane member D. Woods -- met Wayne while working as a back-up dancer for Ne-Yo. She's been credited for connecting Wayne with producer Bangladesh and aiding in the birth of 'A Milli,' and was quickly brought into the fold, singing and touring with Young Money.

When a photo circulated depicting the two artists sharing an embrace, the rumor mill began to churn.

"We're taking a picture," she explained. "All the rest of the rumors were kinda funny except that one...When my mother called me like, 'Um?,' [I was] like, 'No! Are you serious?' I don't care about the rumors, but I just want people to know that I'm not pregnant. I've got an album coming out, I'm a dancer, I'm in shape and children are not anywhere in my future."

Wayne also addressed the rumors in a recent Ustream video. "Let me clear up this rumor, man: Shanell is not pregnant from me," Wayne said. "Shanell isn't even pregnant! Period. Clear that up right now, man. Everybody talking about Shanell pregnant by ... No, she not even pregnant. Period."

Wayne is currently awaiting sentencing for a 2007 gun charge, shooting videos at a manic pace and receiving more root canals than a vegetable garden, while Shanell prepares her forthcoming debut.

Fantasia Barrino -- High Alert After Hate Mail (North Carolina)

Fantasia Barrino is under a self-imposed lockdown -- after the "American Idol" champ received a threatening letter.

It all started last night at the Pantages Theater in L.A. -- Fantasia was reading her fan mail after a performance of "The Color Purple."

Fantasia's manager tells us Barrino became alarmed over a disturbing letter loaded with racial slurs -- including the n-word -- and a line that read, "go back where you came from and die."

We're told the person who wrote the letter claims he used to work as a security guard for Fox while Fantasia was on "A.I."

Fantasia's manager tells us the singer immediately contacted theater security -- which then contacted the LAPD.

In the meantime, we're told the theater has "beefed up" security around Fantasia -- and all over the venue -- and will be screening anything sent to Barrino's dressing room before it gets to her.

Fantasia tells TMZ, "I will not be defeated by one isolated person's hatred."

For Sale: Lil Wayne's Miami Condo (Florida)

Rapper Lil Wayne is looking to cash out on his Miami real estate holdings, as he prepares to serve a year in prison for a gun violation.

The New Orleans rapper put his luxurious South Beach, Florida condominium up for sale for a cool $2.8 million dollars.

The unit, which located in the Murano Grande Condominium, has four bedrooms.

Last year, The New York Post reported that Lil Wayne was having trouble selling another three-bedroom, two bathroom condo on South Beach, because it smelled like marijuana.

Lil Wayne denied those allegations to London DJ Tim Westwood during an interview last week.

“We’re not having trouble selling it, but all the other stuff is true," Lil Wayne joked with Tim Westwood. "The people that are coming to look at it like that more about it That’s like coming into Bob Marley’s crib and you still smelling weed and his bed still messed up. They’re like ‘leave all that s**t. I want to buy all that. I’m one of those ni**as right now.”

The chart-topping rapper is currently renting a 15,000 square-foot mansion on La Gorce Island.

In October of 2009, Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, after police found a loaded .40 caliber gun on his tour bus in July of 2008.

He is due to be sentenced to one year in prison on March 2.

Slick, but Not Soul Glow: Slim & Birdman Get Into The Oil Business (Louisiana)

With all of the bling amassed by Cash Money Record founders, Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams, the two hip hop moguls are now investing some cash money into the oil business. The Williams brothers founded an oil exploration company named Bronald Oil & Gas LLC, which is focused on “exploration and development properties in Osage County, Oklahoma, as well as in Texas, Louisiana and Florida in the United States and in Central America.” Although, the company does not yet have any staff or investors, the fans of the Cash Money owners, point out that Bryan “Birdman” Williams must be serious about the new oil venture, because he now sports a tattoo of an oil well on his shaved head.

The colorful Williams brothers founded Cash Money records in the early ‘90s from the New Orleans housing projects. And the record label has since sold more than 45 million albums, receiving dozens of multiplatinum and gold awards from artists such as, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G., and Baby/Birdman, two of Bryan’s hip-hop alter egos.

The information and mission statement on the Web site of Bronald Oil & Gas LLC states that the company “hopes to partner with other developers to jointly exploit significant additional assets by leveraging Bronald’s infrastructure.”

In the biography provided on the oil company’s Web site, Birdman notes that he has big plans for the expansion of Cash Money Records:

“I want to make this a full-fledged entertainment and music company for all genres of music, from pop and rock to country and gospel,” says Slim. “I also want to make the film company just as big, if not bigger, than the record label. I want it all…music, publishing, film, videogames, DVD.

Bryan “Birdman” Williams, aka, “Baby” can now ad oil exploration to the list.

Daddy's Home: Matthew Knowles May Be The Father (Texas)

Beyonce's father, Mathew Knowles, has not acknowledged he's the baby daddy of Alexsandra Wright's child, but a judge may force him to pay child support -- at least until DNA results are in.

Alexsandra claims she had an 18 month relationship with Knowles and that he's the father of Nixon, who was born February 4.

In an L.A. court this AM, Lance Spiegel, lawyer for Mathew Knowles, and Neal Hersh, Alexsandra's attorney, talked support numbers with the judge. The numbers that were thrown around were in the $20,000 a month range.

Spiegel claims Mathew paid $10,000 for hospital costs related to the birth.

Spiegel said a DNA test will be performed March 1.

The judge just took a recess for lunch, without deciding if Knowles will have to pay support ... and if so, how much.

Lil Wayne Prison Sentence Delayed (Louisiana)

This is one of the only instances in which dental problems have been a positive thing! Lil Wayne has just gotten his prison sentence delayed due to a series of dental work he needs taken care of.

Today, Weezy was expected to be formally sentenced on a gun possession charge and then shipped off to NYC's Rikers Island prison.

Now according to the Associated Press, his sentencing has been rescheduled for March 2nd. The rapper's attorney explained in a Manhattan court that he needed to finish a series of dental surgeries before his year-long stint in prison.

Lil Wayne recorded a video message to all of his fans on what he thought was his last night of freedom. "I'm out this b*tch," he said. "To all my fans, my real fans, I really, really, really truly love you. I love you with all of me, for real. I’ll probably be loving everything else because I love you so much. Thank you from the bottom [of my heart]. Do not forget about me 'cause I will forever think about you, and I cannot wait for you to see me again. I'm out."

We're not sure this is a good thing or bad thing! Delaying a prison sentence only makes it worse in the long run!

Lil Wayne Shot Nine Music Videos Last Weekend (Louisiana)

Preparing for Wayne's (delayed) stint in jail, MC shot footage for songs from Tha Carter IV, Rebirth and Young Money LPs.

Video director David Rousseau said he and the Cash Money team might need to check the Guinness Book of World Records: He and his company Creativeseen may be the new record-holders for most music videos shot in 48 hours.

Lil Wayne was expected to begin serving his one-year sentence on a weapons-possession charge on Tuesday (February 9), and while that sentencing was postponed until March 2, the MC has spent recent weeks manically recording music and videos — and over the past weekend, he hit the latter with a vengeance.

Cash Money chiefs Ronald "Slim" Williams and his brother Brian (a.k.a. Baby, a.k.a. The Birdman) enlisted Rousseau to shoot nine videos for Lil Wayne during Friday, Saturday and parts of Sunday. The director said he and his crew started setting up for the production around 9 a.m. Friday and the last camera stopped rolling at around 8 a.m. on Super Bowl Sunday.

"We shot some sh-- from the [We Are Young Money compilation] album, we shot something from [Wayne's forthcoming] Tha Carter IV. Some stuff from [Wayne's recent LP] Rebirth," the director told MTV News on Tuesday (February 9), before Wayne's sentencing was postponed. "We knew what our deadline was. We're trying to get maximum coverage for Wayne. Most of the time we only shot Wayne's verses — we'll finish the rest of the videos off in the next couple of weeks.

Rousseau, who had previously directed the soon to be released Young Money video "Roger That" and the recently released Kevin Rudolf/ Wayne/ Birdman/ Jay Sean collaboration "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)," said the Williams brothers contacted him two weeks ago about his huge task.

"We were put on hold," Rousseau tells. "Cash Money said, 'This is our deadline. This is a hard deadline.' It was basically a 'Mission: Impossible' [scenario]: This is your mission if you choose to accept it. Everybody is on board because everybody knows what's at stake. Unlike T.I. and some of these other guys that's disappeared while they were in, the point is to keep Wayne [visible] on TV and everything for whatever time he's in. There was a plan in action. Slim and Baby really could foresee that. He's at the height of his career, you can't let that momentum slip."

Some of the videos that were shot over the weekend were "Da Da Da," "Knockout" and "Get a Life" from Rebirth and a brand new Weezy song from the highly anticipated Carter IV. "Da Da Da" features the rock band !Mayday! — which performed at Wayne's "farewell" party on Sunday night — and was shot on location at the Marlin Hotel in Miami. The rest of the clips were filmed at the New Art studio in North Miami in front of a green screen and white background, so footage can be added later.

"There isn't a title for it," Rousseau said of the Carter IV song. "Honestly, I can't tell you too much about it. That was a complete secret. We had to kick everyone off the set for it. No photography, even their official photographer had to leave. That's under wraps. The album is still under production. It's a crazy song."

Rousseau did divulge that the video from Tha Carter IV record would have parts of performance as well as a storyline, as does the video for "Knockout."

"We got some concepts," the director said about what we can expect from the videos. "Cash Money came to the table with certain rough concepts. We went off that. In the next couple of weeks, we'll figure out what we got; 'Let's take this over here, let's take this over there.' At the end of the day, what it comes down to is making sure you got Wayne in the can. There's rough ideas for everything. They may not be completely sculpted out, but there is a plan. Nothing is done, just to do it. Everything was pre-thought, whether it be by Baby or Slim or Wayne himself. They're in the loop. As a label they were prepped."

Along with the Cash Money/ Young Money family, Juelz Santana, Yo Gotti and boxer Sugar Shane Mosley came out for the shoots.

"We tried to keep it wide, medium, close-up, just him vibing. Then we let him go change clothes," Rousseau said about the different shots in the videos. "Then other people would come in for 30 minutes. Wayne would come back out, same thing; wide, medium, close-up. Then we bring out somebody else who is on the song, Nicki Minaj, Sean Garrett, Baby, Tyga. Then again, 35 minutes [later] Wayne would come out. The only way to keep him fresh is [doing it] like a basketball team. You know, you can't give your starter too many minutes: You got him for 35 minutes on the court, outfit change. It was a tight schedule. We shot 16, 18 hours [at a day]. He was there the whole time. He was a trooper.

"He was in a zone," Rousseau continued. "He was ready. It was a work mentality. He's getting prepared for everything that's about to happen to him. He knows it's the fourth quarter. He was completely cooperative, and completely professional."

Asked how he maintains such a rigorous schedule, Wayne told BBC Radio 1's Tim Westwood last weekend, "Determination. You set a goal. I'm one of those people that don't stop until the goal is done."

Besides the aforementioned videos, Weezy told Westwood that he recently shot four in Los Angeles, one in Dallas and has "been shooting" in Atlanta as well. Those videos include Rebirth's "Drop the World" (with Eminem) as well as "Roger That" and "Girl I Got You" from Young Money LP. He also filmed "WTF" with Shawty Lo in Atlanta.

Of course, Wayne now has a bit more time to work on these videos — and probably a lot more.

Lil Wayne Talks About Jail Time (Louisiana)

The Cash Money/ Young Money family is coping with the reality of having its leader, Lil Wayne, in jail for the next eight-to-12 months, as part of his plea bargain stemming from his July 2007 arrest on gun-possession charges. As part of the deal, Wayne is expected to serve a maximum of 12 months, and with good behavior could serve as little as eight. After he officially enters his plea on Tuesday, the rapper is expected to turn himself in immediately to begin his sentence.

On Sunday night in Miami, Drake, Birdman, Nicki Minaj, Gudda Gudda, Mack Maine, Short Dawg,Jae Millz and several other members of the Cash Money/ Young Money family joined Wayne at club Dolce for a farewell party. Another MC Wayne started his career with, B.G., was also in attendance, as were Wale, Sean Garrett and Houston MC Trae Tha Truth.

But whether Wayne is gone for eight months or eight days, it's still a difficult prospect to bear for the crew that takes its "family" billing quite seriously.

Cash Money CEO Birdman raps about Weezy going to jail in a new Rick Ross song called "Veterans Day," which leaked last weekend and also features Wayne. The Cash Money CEO raps: "Junior doing time/ Kicking up his feet/ A million on the books/ I'm stunning with a fleet." (Wayne's verse on the song doesn't address his upcoming jail time.)

In the new issue of Rolling Stone, Birdman tells the magazine of his inner turmoil.

"Wayne is my son," Birdman told the magazine, with his eyes reportedly welling up. "I've been with him forever. It will be the first time in my life I'll not be reachable to him. We work together, we're on the road together. We're always together. I try not to even think about it. I'm losing something in my soul, in my heart, in my life."

Wayne's absence is felt throughout his crew. Talking to Rolling Stone, Drake described Wayne as a strong individual.

"He's a strong-willed guy. I can imagine it would take a toll on anybody. I just hope that he comes out for the better.

"I think you'll miss everything about Wayne," he continued. "I don't think there will be anybody like Lil Wayne ever again in hip-hop. He paralyzes a room when he walks into it — his wordplay, the excitement that he brings to his music. I think that for eight months, a lot of us will have to work a lot harder to keep hip-hop as exciting as it's been for the last two years."

Hot Yella Interview with Ozone Magazine (Florida)

Hot Yella is a fast rising name emerging from the Tallahassee area. Recent cosigns from DJs Storm and Supastar J Kwik have a lot of people checking for Yella, and her new song “Miss Me” is taking off in Florida.

By Ms. Rivercity

Introduce yourself and tell us how you started rapping.
Well, I started off singing. The first time I ever recorded anything I was in 7th grade. I actually rapped a little back then, but I started out singing. I also write music – I write R&B and Hip Hop records. I’m an artist on Triple Threat, so a lot of people know me for my tagline “Triple Threat.”

Where are you from originally?
I’m from Tallahassee. I was born in Florida. I’m also from Madison, Wisconsin and Las Vegas. I moved around a lot. In high school I went to three different schools. I moved around a lot in middle and elementary school too, so my versatility comes through in my music.

Do you still sing at all? Or are you strictly rapping now?
Yeah, I still sing on some of my hooks. I’m mostly rapping right now though. I’m making a lot of fun records, a lot of club records right now. That’s what I really love to do – make feel-good, happy music, stuff for the ladies. But I also write R&B records and sing.

Tell us about the “Miss Me” song you have buzzing on the net.“Miss Me” is out right now. I really wanna give a big shout out to Supastar J Kwik in Tallahasse, also all the DJs on Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace supporting the record. “Miss Me” is a song for the ladies. There’s a free download on HotYella.com.

What’s the situation with you and DJ Storm? Are you her artist or is she just helping you get your name out there?
Storm and I work together. I had been doing music for a while [before we linked up]. We worked in radio together. I interned at the station Blazin’ 102.3 for about a year and we became friends. She hosted my mixtape that I put out last June. I was gonna put out the mixtape anyway, and Storm was like, “I’m all about my ladies, chicks in charge.” So she wanted to host it. It turned out to be a real good mixtape. It’s called Life of a Triple Threat. You can also check that out on my website.

Are you doing another mixtape soon?
I’m working on singles right now. I’m coming out with something every couple months. Right now I got “Miss Me,” I got a freestyle to Jay-Z’s “On to the Next.” It got on a mixtape this week and “Miss Me” got on two mixtapes this week. I also got a new single coming out called “Cat Walk.”

You mentioned interning at the radio station. What were some things you learned in the internship that have helped with your music career?
It was a promotional internship and I also did a couple call-ins. It helped me. Radio and doing music is somewhat alike. You have to be good at networking and dealing with people. There’s a lot of good information you can learn in radio and bring that over into music.

It seems like Tallahassee would be a good market to gain a fanbase with all the college students living there. Is that an advantage for you?
Yeah, 100 percent. We have all these universities here. If you can’t touch the people here and make a mark in the music industry, then it’s probably gonna be way harder for you to do it in a different market. There’s so many students and people thirsty for entertainment and clubs.

As a representative for the ladies, what do you feel is missing from the game as far as that goes?
There’s an obvious lack of female artists. I think a lot of it has to do with how women present themselves as a business entity. A lot of men look at it as more of a business. But with Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, people like that, I think it’s going to be changing soon. People are really thirsty to hear a good female artist. There’s gonna be more to come from “bad bitches.”

What else do you have in the works?
Look out for my new single and keep yourself updated on HotYella.com. That’s where everything is, links to my Myspace, Facebook, Twitter. For booking you can contact 26 Talent at 850-320-1030. All my ladies, keep your heads up and you’ll hear more to come. //

Reaper Mike (Reap), is a PRODUCER, WRITER, AND PERFORMER equipped with street pounding beats, and spine tingling melodies, and Reap's flow is aged like fine wine with an arsenal of words that penetrate like daggers. Born in College Park, Ga., Reap has lived in many places such as Riverdale, the Bay Area, and Cincinnati, and everywhere in between. Reap is a by-product of the streets in metro Atlanta, where hustling is mandatory and grinding is necessary. His music is expression in its raw and uncut form. Live and direct straight off the block. Reap's style is authentic and from the heart, and he has successfully put his gift's to excellent use. He surely will be at the TOP of the industry soon!!!

Nappy Roots in Tallahassee (Florida)

Although the Nappy Roots were on the bill, only two members of the group performed, Scales and Skinny. They performed their two major hits "Aww Naw" and "Po' Folks". They also performed "Good Day" and their new single "Ride" off of their new album "The Pursuit of Nappyness"; which is due to be released on April 20th.

Street Lotto, a new artist hailing from Atlanta,  was the opening act. His homie told me he has a distribution deal via Nappy Roots and Warner. His single is called "On My Gangsta".

It was primarily an FSU crowd....so you know what that means. Yet they were hyped and knew the words to the hit songs and were feeling Lotto's music also.
