Jeremih and Trey Songz have joined the growing line up for the BET hosted 'S.O.S. (Saving Ourselves) - Help For Haiti' !
Announced Monday as guests, Jeremih and Songz accompany Missy Elliott, Chrisette Michele, Gloria Estefan, Pete Wentz, The Dream, Jason Derulo, Sean Kingston and Common, as celebrities coming to the aid of Haiti Earthquake victims in their time of need.
As previously reported 'S.O.S. Help For Haiti," is a benefit concert airing from Miami, Florida's American Airlines Arena with performances from Ne-Yo, Justin Bieber, Keri Hilson, Chris Brown, Jazmine Sullivan, Pitbull, Akon, Ludacris, Mary J Blige, Robin Thicke, Monica, Kirk Franklin, Nas, and Damian Marley.
A telethon as well, "SOS Help for Haiti' will raise donations for the devastated victims of Haiti.
Hosted by Queen Latifah, Sean "Diddy" Combs and Pharrell, in partnership with Procter and Gamble and Pepsi, "SOS Saving Ourselves – Help for Haiti" will be taped at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL on February 5th at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and will air simultaneously on BET, MTV, VH1 and CENTRIC.
The show will be live streamed at BET.com and streamed in Haiti via TNH and Tripp TV.

Black History: Isaac Hayes (Tennessee)
Isaac Hayes was born in Covington, Tipton County, Tennessee, the second-born child of Isaac Hayes, Sr., and Eula Hayes.[2] After their early deaths, he was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Wade, Sr. The child of a poor family, he grew up picking cotton on farms around Covington. Hayes dropped out of high school, only to be encouraged later by his former high school teachers at Manassas High Schools to get his diploma, which he earned at the age of 21. He began singing at the age of five at his local church, and, soon after, he taught himself to play the piano, the Hammond organ, the flute, and the saxophone.
His first professional gigs, in the late 1950s, were as a singer at Curry's Club in North Memphis, backed by Ben Branch's houseband.
Hayes began his recording career in the early 1960s, as a session player for various acts of the Memphis-based Stax Records. He later wrote a string of hit songs with songwriting partner David Porter, including "You Don't Know Like I Know", "Soul Man", "When Something Is Wrong with My Baby", and "Hold On I'm Comin" for Sam and Dave. Hayes, Porter and Stax studio band Booker T. & the MGs were also the producers for Sam & Dave, Carla Thomas and other Stax artists during the mid-1960s. Hayes-Porter contributed to the Stax sound made famous during this period, and Sam & Dave credited Hayes for helping develop both their sound and style. In 1968, Hayes released his debut album, Presenting Isaac Hayes, a jazzy, largely improvised effort that was commercially unsuccessful.
His next album was Hot Buttered Soul, which was released in 1969 after Stax had gone through a major upheaval. The label had lost its largest star, Otis Redding, in a plane crash in December 1967. Stax lost all of its back catalog to Atlantic Records in May 1968. As a result, Stax executive vice president Al Bell called for 27 new albums to be completed in mid-1969; Hot Buttered Soul, was the most successful of these releases.[4] This album is noted for Hayes' image (shaved head, gold jewelry, sunglasses, etc.) and his distinct sound (extended orchestral songs relying heavily on organs, horns, and guitars, deep bass vocals, etc.). Also on the album, Hayes re-interprets "Walk On By" (which had been made famous by Dionne Warwick) into a twelve-minute exploration. "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" starts with an eight-minute long monologue[5] before breaking into song, and the lone original number, the funky "Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic" runs nearly ten minutes, a significant break from the standard three minute soul/pop songs.
"Walk On By" would be the first of many times Hayes would take a Burt Bacharach standard, generally made famous as three minute pop songs by Dionne Warwick or Dusty Springfield, and transform it into a soulful, lengthy and almost gospel number.

We Break Music: New Rick Ross (Florida)
The follow up to Rick Ross's 2009 street single, "Music Mafia," has leaked onto the Internet, and a music video is currently in the works. The track, titled "Music Mafia II," features backing vocals from Chrisette Michele, and will appear on Ross's upcoming album, Teflon Don.
In a preview of the video posted to YouTube, Ross confirms that Michele will appear in the video, which is also said to feature DJ Khaled and Triple C.
"Those that are from Miami that know that was Ross's original rap name, Teflon Don," DJ Khaled told TheBoombox.com. "Trust me, we are making some crazy music man. We gonna make them anthems that have the club going crazy."

Rapper Sues T.I., Claims He Stole 'What You Know' (Georgia)
Rapper T.I. could be back in front of a judge, but instead of criminal charges, the rapper is being sued for copyright infringement by an upcoming rapper.
At issue is T.I.’s Grammy Award winning song “What You Know,” which Nathan Filby aka Motoe Blizzid, claims T.I. stole.
Filby, who is being represented by One LLP, claims the 2006 track sampled portions of a 2004 song he made titled Reverence.
He claims that the track was delivered to a number of industry insiders before reaching a representative at Relentless Management, a company that reportedly works with T.I.
In court documents, One LLP and Filby claimed that the tracks contain the “same harmonic” range and lawyers even presented documents that showed an algorithm that claimed to show the song’s similarities scientifically.
According to reports, Filby seeks a trial by jury and all profits derived from the song, which was featured on T.I.’s hit album King.
T.I. is currently in a halfway house after serving almost 8 months in a low security prison, after he was caught purchasing machine guns and silencers in October of 2008.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - BET host, DJ Q45, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end, Quentin Groves, and Tera Nova Lounge, are doing their part to make sure that single mothers in Jacksonville have at least one toy to give their children for Christmas!
The first 100 single mothers to join DJ Q45 and Groves at Tera Nova Lounge (located at 8206 Phillips Highway) on December 25, 2009 starting at 10:00 p.m., will each receive a free toy for their children!
Providing free toys for single mothers to give to their kids for Christmas comes from the heart and is a very personal cause for DJ Q45, who experienced the struggles that face single mothers and their kids first-hand.
“My mom was a single mom and she worked two jobs, at times, just to afford toys,” said DJ Q45. “So to every single mom, Brand45 wants to say thank you for all your hard work and to help make this Christmas special for your child.”
For Groves, it was also personal experience that sparked his interest in the toy giveaway and inspired him to join forces with Brand45.
“I never want a child to be without a gift for Christmas,” said Groves. “I know and hate the feeling waking up to a tree with nothing under it. Moms need a break and I'm blessed to be a blessing to someone else!”
